Karen L. McMillin

Karen L. McMillin, age 69 died February 1, 2012 at her home. Karen had lived 32 years in Hartsgrove Twp., then in Hambden Twp. for 10 years before moving to Orwell in 2004. She was born October 30, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio and was employed by Nickles Bakery until retiring January 1, 2012. Karen married Ellis “Mac” McMillin in Chardon, July 10, 1965. She loved reading, working and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Christina McMillin of Madison, OH; sons, John (Yvonne) McMillin of Hartsgrove, OH, Michael (Nancy) McMillin of Concord, OHGrandchildren: Nicholas (Ashley) McMillin of Lisbon, and Amanda (Brent) Stofan of Hartsgrove, and Samantha, Andrew, and Sean McMillin of Concord; sister, Martha (Bruce) McDowell of Lenox; niece, Sandy Tanczyn of Sisterville, WV and nephew, Russell McDowell of Kingsville, OH.She is preceded in death by her husband, Ellis “Mac” McMillin, parents, John F. and Viola (Smith) Vandenburg, and sister, Joan (Wally)GrantFuneral Service is Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 10:00AM at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, (St. Rt. 44, 500′ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square), Chardon.Visitation is Monday, February 6, 2012 from 5-8PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Whitehaven Park, Mayfield Village.Memorial Contributions are suggested to the family or to the donor’s local Humane Society.
