June E. Bartlett, 83, Chardon, passed away Sept. 14, 2011.Born Dec. 3, 1927, in Cleveland, June had lived in Chester Township for 35 years before moving to Chardon 13 years ago.She married Donald Bartlett Nov. 30, 1946, at St. Clare Catholic Church in Lyndhurst. June graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1946. She was a loving homemaker and belonged to the Chagrin Valley Women’s Club, a member and past president of the Republican Women’s Club and was active in the Girl Scouts of America. June was an animal activist, supporting many charities and animal life saving organizations. She enjoyed crocheting and drawing.Survivors are her husband of 64 years, Donald of Chardon; daughters, Donna (Rob) Bartlett Goldstein of Boston, Mass., and Linda (Chuck) Skufca of Chardon; grandchildren, Tim, Megan, Kate, and Devon; brother, Dick Newman of Concord Township; parents, John and Mary Newman; brothers, John and James; and sister, Jean Cannata.Private family services will be held. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.Memorial contributions are suggested to the donor’s local animal shelter.Arrangements are being handled by The Burr Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Chardon.
