Born Sept. 22, 1914, in Cleveland, she had lived in Geauga County for the past 58 years. She began volunteering at the Chardon Municipal Court in 1988, and assisted there for many years. Throughout her life, she enjoyed dancing and along with her husband, Joe, was a member of a local square dance club. This hobby took them on many polka tour vacations from as nearby as Akron to as far away as the Mediterranean. Jo loved cats and was seldom without one nearby. A role model for her daughter, Joan, Jo was an honest, intelligent and caring person, with a sense of humor. Always having something to look forward to was a top priority in her life. Mrs. Glavic worked as general manager, officer and director of Chadon’s Grand River Hardwood Company for nearly 30 years, retiring in December 1976. she is survived by her daughter, Joan Ellen Davis of Roswell, GA. Her parents, Martin and Frances (nee: Haffner) Valetich;brothers, Sylvester Valetich and Martin Vale; and sister, Frances O’Konski are deceased.
