Funeral Mass for Joseph A. Williams Jr., 86, will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Helen Catholic Church, 12060 Kinsman Road, Newbury Township. Mr. Williams died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at Tryon Estates in Columbus, N.C. Born July 6, 1924, in Belleville, N.J., he had lived in Chagrin Falls before moving to Columbus, N.C. Joe was a devoted husband, loving father, and life member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved our Lord and spent each day of his retirement going to daily Mass with his wife, thanking God for his many blessings until he was physically unable to go to daily Mass. Mr. Williams retired after more than 30 years as the CEO and President of Electrolock Inc. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Katharine (Andrus) whom he married June 26, 1948, at St. Mary’s in Nutley, N.J.; sons, Joe and Mark; daughters, Kathy, Sharon, Andrea, Peggy, and Beth; grandchildren, Kitty, Robin, Sarita, Zach, Joe, Mike, Jenny, David, Matt, Wendy, Matt, William, Christy, Jessica, Virginia, Michelle, Kimmy, Jimmy, Tony, Richelle, Fred, Maggie, Theresa, Jack; and 25 great-grandchildren. His parents, Joseph A. and Mary (Paggi) Williams Sr., are deceased. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Burr funeral Home, 116 South St.(Route 44, 500 feet south of Route 6/Chardon Square), Chardon. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township. The Rev. Jay McPhillips of the church will officiate. The family suggests contributions to a Hospice of one’s choice.
