Jeffery B. “Jeff” Lanphear, 60, of Hartsgrove Township, passed away Aug. 28, 2011, at University Hospitals of Cleveland.Born June 19, 1951, in East Cleveland, he had lived in Munson Township before moving to Hartsgrove Township 33 years ago.He has worked in purchasing and support services for Center for Dialysis in Cleveland for the last five years. Previously, he worked for Benjamin Rose Institute in Cleveland for 12 years and St. John, Westshore. Jeffery B. Lanphear married Christine Robertson June 23, 1978, in Kirtland Hills. Jeff served on the Board of Zoning in Hartsgrove Township. He was very committed to genealogy. He would give talks at historical societies on grave dowsing, enjoyed collecting antiques, especially Christmas Antiques and music, was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and collected Indians memorabilia and autographs. He enjoyed traveling, having traveled for a year through out Europe upon his graduation from Brush High School. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife and children. Survivors are his wife, Christine “Tina” (nee Robertson) Lanphear of Hartsgrove Township; daughters, Sarah Sawyer Lanphear of Portland, Ore., and Margaret Campbell (John) Krause of Geneva; son, John Callander Lanphear of Cincinnati; sister, Beth (Dave) Delano of Vermont; brothers, Stephen (Meg) Lanphear of Massachusetts and Rick (Kris) Lanphear of Willoughby Hills; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Callander and Mildred Louise (nee Zuck) Lanphear. Memorial services will be held 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, (Route 44, 500 feet south of Route 6/Chardon Square), Chardon. The Rev. Henry Woodruff, PhD., retired will officiate.Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service. Private family burial will be held.
