Jeffery D. Smith, 45, of Kirtland, died May 8, 2007, at Hospice House of the Western Reserve.Born in 1961, in Painesville, he was a lifelong resident of the Lake and Geauga Co. area.He loved all sports, especially golf. He was an avid Browns fan as well as a fan of NASCAR. In his spare time, he loved being outside, especially fishing and working on his cars. His greatest love was being surrounded by his family and friends. He was always quick with a smile and a laugh.Mr. Smith worked as a machinist for J.P. Products in Mentor for 20 years.Survivors are his parents, Jack N. and Marilyn (Hendrickson) Smith of Chester Township; brother, Paul (Rachel) Smith of Fredericktown; and grandmother, Vera Hendrickson of Chardon.His grandparents, Norman (Ann) Smith and Pearl (Bill) Fickes; and grandfather, Everett G. Hendrickson, are deceased.Pastor George Zehnder of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Chester Township will officiate the service. Burial will be in Chardon Municipal Cemetery.
