Born in Chardon, OH and raised in Newbury Twp. Jean Irene Davis married Lionel George Morris in Newbury Twp., December 31, 1944.She and her husband moved to Texas and Chicago before returning to Newbury in 1956, where she has since resided.A homemaker, she was also the owner and operator of the former Twin Maples Used Furniture and “Stuff” in Newbury Twp., a business started by her father. She retired in 1986.Jean was a Graduate of Newbury High School, Class of 1941.She had a lifelong love of antiques and also collected dolls, “Smurfs”, and buttons.She loved her property and garden, especially growing strawberries and in her youth helping with the family Sugarbush.When in Chicago, she was a professional square-dancer for the Windy City Promenaders. Jean was also a volunteer for the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Auxiliary, a local hospital and a Den Mother for Cub Scout Pack 99.Among her most cherished treasures were her family, which was central to her life.Jean reminded her family “Thank God for extending His strong arms and meaningful words of hope, love and radiant strength.Above all, Jean loved her savior Jesus Christ and often provided those she knew with her favorite Bible passages.Survivors are her Son: Lyle James (Bonnie) Morris of Newbury Twp.; Granddaughter: Jamie (Chris) Weber of Newbury Twp.
