James W. Carney, age 88, of Chardon Twp., past away November 10, 2010 at his home. He was born September 10, 1922, in Strongstown, PA. Mr. Carney was a salesman and owner of Carney Auto Supply, a wholesale auto part distributor from 1955 until 2002. Prior, Mr. Carney had worked at the Chevy Transmission Plant in Parma, OH and also had owned his own gas and service station.James W. Carney married Marian Prodan in Cleveland in 1952. She preceded him in death on January 6, 2007. James was a veteran of the US Army, serving during World War II as a Tec 4 in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater.He is survived by his sons, Jim C. (Deborah) Carney of Chardon Twp., OH and Paul (Lucia) Carney MD of Gainesville, FL; daughters, Maureen Carney of Chardon Twp., OH and Kathleen (Roger) Dobson of Hartsgrove Twp., OH; grandchildren, Joshua, Charles and William Carney, Paulina and Costanza Carney.He is preceded in death by his wife, Marian (nee: Prodan) Carney; parents, Frank and Lina (Nee: Rhodes) Carney; 2 Sisters and 8 brothers.Private Family Services were held.
