Miss Gallagher was a graduate of John Adams High School and attended the Baptist Bible Institute in Cleveland for 3 years. She was a member of the Kirtland Bethel Bible Church in Kirtland, and a charter member of the Euclid Beach Park Nuts. Her special interests were reading her Bible, attending church, reading Christian novels and listening to Christian tapes. She also enjoyed watching train videos, as her father retired from the Pennsylvania Rail Road and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed car rides and surprise trips. Miss Gallagher was extremely proud of her Irish Heritage. For many years, Miss Gallagher played for an inter league baseball team in Cleveland. She enjoyed playing baseball with her great nephews while in her 80’s. Even in her last days, the staff at Burton Health Care was able to see the “Gold Nugget” Hildy really was.She also leaves behind special canine friends Misty Morne, Calee May and Keelee May and birdie buddy Jammer.Miss Gallagher was a Postal Clerk for the Cleveland Post Office for 15 years, retiring in 1974 due to a disability. Prior to the Post Office, she worked at the former Bing Furniture Company in Cleveland. She is survived by her sister Jeannette E. Mitchell of Chardon, nieces Jeannine (Ron) Eging of Chardon, and Jeannelle Mitchell of Mentor, nephew Douglas (Susan) Mitchell of West Farmington, great nephews Daniel, Benjamin and Samuel Mitchell of West Farmington, And many more nieces and nephews sister in law Kathy Gallagher (Engoglia) of California. Her parents John and Grace (Wagner) Gallagher, brothers John, Norwood and Eugene Gallagher and sister Ruth Ann Hess are all deceased.
