Harry R. Pahl, age 81, died on June 18, 2005. He was the son of Edna and Harry Albert Pahl. Married to Patricia Nussel Pahl for 32 years, they raised sons James R. and David R. of Alaska and a foster son Gary Clendening of Maine. Serving in the Army during World War II, he was a German prisoner of war for six months. Both before and after the war, he attended Miami University and graduated with a degree in Chemistry. He worked for the New York Central Technical Research Lab for 11 years before going to GE to work as a spectroscopist at the Chemical Products Plant for 26 years; a job he loved very much. He was a past president of the Cleveland Chapter of the Society for Applied Spectroscopy and was published in the SAS Journal. Patricia died of cancer in 1981, after which he married Dorothy Kearnes in 1983. They moved from his 32 year residence in East Cleveland to Munson Twp. in 1984. He was active in the Boy Scouts and a member of the Geauga Bowmen Archery Club both for over 40 years. He was a life member of the DAV and a member of the American EX-Prisoners of War. His main hobby was photography for over 20 years during which he photographed many weddings and portraits using black and white film. When it became time to switch to color photography, he decided to give it up. After retirement, he joined the Munson Twp. Fire Department and became an EMT.
