Born Jan. 22, 1932, in Meadville, Pa., he lived there and in Mentor before moving to Claridon Township in 1978, where he lived until returning to Meadville.Mr. Tidd worked as a machinist for Kennametal in Solon for 32 years, retiring in 1994.He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving as a Corporal during the Korean War. He then served in the Ohio National Guard. He was a member of the Mentor Church of Christ and a former member of American Legion Post 167 in Chardon. Harold enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping, motorcycle riding and especially liked to spend time with his family and friends.He is survived by his wife, Jean Harvey; daughters, Holly Nagy, Janice Hedrick, Becky Hazlett and Kathy Kuhn, Lori LeSuer and Linda Watt; sons, Harold Tidd Jr. and Steven B. Tidd, Russell Lake and Stephen, Greg and Paul Harvey; grandchildren, John Nagy, Jennifer Corfee, Stacey and Glenn Hedrick, Anna and Amy Hazlett, Bob and Dave Dean; Stacy, Stephen, Celeste, Clarissa, Virginia, Skyler and Joshua Harvey, Melissa Spencer and Shelly Swavey; Benjamin, Rachel, Andrew and Anna Lake; and Andrea and Daniel LeSuer; great-grandchildren, Champaigne, Payton, Matthew, Maxwell, Ben, Stevie, Madison, Megan and Lydia; sister, Janet C. Mischenko; and brothers, Donald E. and Jerry D. Tidd.He was preceded in death by his previous wives, Betty J. (Foster) and Janice L. (Shockey); parents, James A. and Miriam M. (nee Camp) Tidd; and brothers, John, George, Arthur and Fred.Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Minister Marc Addison of Mentor Church of Christ will officiate services. Burial will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
