Aunt Gloria was a ray of sunshine with the gift of making everyone around her feel loved and special. I'll miss her smile, her laughter, and her trademark lipstick kiss on the cheek. There is a comfort knowing she's in the presence of God, her beloved son Jeff and other dear family & friends that have gone before her. My heart and prayers go out to Uncle Bob, John, Tom, her grandchildren and siblings, and all who loved and knew this loving, beautiful and kind woman.

Laurie DeLong left a message on July 17, 2020:
I send my deepest sympathy to all family and friends. I loved my Aunt Gloria very much. When I was 10 she gave me my “Kaitlyn” doll all dressed in pink. I named my daughter after that baby doll she gave me in 2002. She held a special place in my heart. Aunt Gloria was a shining star, a sparkle of hope and love. Great times were had whenever she was around. I know my boys will never forget her and her “famous pink kisses“. A beautiful lady inside and out. I will be praying for the family for comfort and peace. Knowing she is with God, reuniting with loved ones, gives me hope. I love you all... Aunt Gloria will be deeply missed. xoxo

My heart goes out to you, Bob, Tom, John, and all the family. Gloria was such a kind, loving, and strong person, and I am so very sorry for your great loss. She was a dear friend to so many, and we will miss her immensely. Gloria and I weren't able to get together as often as we would have liked because of our large families, but it was always such a pleasurable occasion when we did see each other. Her face would be aglow with love as she would tell me about her family, and it was plain to see how much happiness was in her life because of all of you. Gloria was genuinely interested in the life of others, as well. She was so caring and thoughtful in every way, as she would send a card or make a phone call and was a great support when she knew we would need it. I'm thankful to have known her these many years.

It is with much love and remembrance that I share my loving reflection of my dear sister-in-law, Gloria. We have all been so BLESSED to have her as a part of our lives through the years. A beautiful gal that caught the eye of my brother, Bob, in their high school time together that eventually grew into love and marriage that lasted 55 years. Definitely a match made in heaven. A very dedicated and loving wife. A mother’s love was made supreme as her roll of caring for their 3 very talented sons that was such a total delight and joy to her in helping them grow into fine young men. Her interactions dealing with her jobs, family life happenings were always dealt with showing much love and joy as she beamed with hugs and kisses to all she met. She saw life as wonderful adventures in travel, her excellent work talents, the importance of family and friends. She enjoyed each new day and always thanking Jesus for all her blessings and would easily pray for others in need. Her faith was very important to her and she loved to share her faith anytime. Our life’s trials have a way of dealing us with hard knocks as she endured colon cancer, stroke challenges but kept a fighting spirit to give her best efforts and continued being the loving and caring person with the Holy Spirit directing her path. She always tried to keep a positive attitude to endure the difficult days. A very kind hearted lady who cared deeply about their growing family and adored her grandchildren. Always ready to share her precious pictures of special times together with those she loved so much. Enjoyed having family events at their home to entertain and just be together creating more precious memories. Her journey has come to a close but the moment she closed her eyes here on earth, she opened them in heaven with Jesus by her side. Hugs waiting for her from her dear son, Jeff, and so many other precious family members forever together again. Thank you, JESUS! Gloria will forever be in our hearts! A life well lived! Welcome to your eternal HOME…July 14, 2020! Forever in our hearts! Love, Jane Diedrich Peterson

Bill Kurple left a message on July 16, 2020:
Gloria has been my cousin and friend for my entire life. Our relationship started – that I can remember - when I was about three years old as children spending the summer on our grandmother’s dairy farm. Gloria and her sisters – being a little older - looked after me. This was well over sixty years ago. From that point forward, our lives have been intermingled. I can remember roughhousing with Bob when he and Gloria were dating. As I was younger and a fraction of Bob’s size, he would gently manhandle me as I joyfully laughed. I can still hear Gloria standing nearby saying “Now Bob - don’t you hurt him”. Gloria and Bob’s wedding was a joyful occasion – and my countless visits to their home were always warm and welcoming. Gloria’s sense of humor was legendary and contagious as stories were always forthcoming about our shared childhood. Gloria had strong spiritual roots and a firm morality. Her wonderful sons reflect that in their actions as fine men. A famous philosopher once wrote that death should be like laughing at a thief trying to break into an empty safe. Throughout your life you are to dispense love and kindness and by life’s end you were merely an empty shell. Gloria left the world this week an empty shell - as she generously and completely emptied herself of all the love and kindness the Lord wanted her to give throughout her life - to her husband, her sons and all she touched. A life of sacrifice, generosity, and love. I will miss her always. Bill Kurple

To my beautiful beloved mother. With honor to your life and memory from my heart and mind and all that I am. Love the most meaningful gift in life we share. You are with me always near. I am with you never far. Our ‘Love’ will not end but last through time indefinite. Each day the gift of life is in me I will continue to love others unconditionally and love family and friends with trueness of heart as my love was pure and true to you always. A loving son to a precious mother. You took care of me when I was young and I had the honor of taking care of you as we grow old. The Fourth Commandment. Exodus 20:12; Leviticus 19:3. What you taught me the most important love through scripture Mathew 22:37-39; Mark 12:29-31; Luke 10:27 ; 1 John 4:8-10 ; 1 Peter 2:21,23 that teaches love a precious quality Galatians 5:22-23; Ephesians 4:2-3; 5:1-2; Colossians 3:13-14; John 13:34-35; 1 Corinthians 1:1-13; 13:4-8 and to always love others Leviticus 19:18; Romans 13:10; John 13:34; 1 Corinthians 10:24; 16:14. Thank you my beloved mother for all your love and teachings through life and to never have the “I” a selfish heart but to always be thinking of others first with a loving heart. You were the best mother anyone could hope for and have. I am so blessed and thankful to call you mother and have the honor to be your son. There is no ‘I’ nor ‘we’ but only ‘us’. I love you beyond words and time. Forever Love your grateful middle son Thomas I Love You Mom Xoxoxo
