She was a 1940 graduate of Chardon High School. Mrs. Sangrik was an active member of Hambden Congregational Church, attending as a child; she served as deaconess, Sunday School Teacher, Missionary Committee, Vacation Bible School and various other committees. Mrs. Sangrik served as the Hambden Twp. Clerk during the mid 70’s. She was a 71 year member of the Hambden Grange and the Ohio State and National Grange. She volunteered at Geauga Hospital and delivered Meals on Wheels. Mrs. Sangrik enjoyed her family and home as well as caring for her rose bushes. She enjoyed sharing her roses with shut-in and friends. She would take a vase of one rose each week to every home, while delivering Meals on Wheels. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren, John and Amber, and attended all of their activities and sporting events, as long as her health permitted.She enjoyed entertaining her family and friends for dinners and special gatherings. Her hobby was making unusual decorated cakes for special birthdays and occasions. Another of her hobbies was identifying wild birds that came to her outdoor feeders year round. Survivors include her son Larry J. (Wendy) Sangrik, DDS of Hambden Twp., grandchildren John G. and Amber N. Sangrik of Hambden Twp., sisters Flora Phillips of Hambden Twp., and Margaret Hazen of Munson Twp.,12 nieces and nephews. Her husband John Sangrik, whom she married September 19, 1945 in Hambden Twp. preceded her in death September 10, 1973. Her parents Clyde and Mary (Davis) Winchell are also deceased.
