Mrs. Vaughn was a graduate of Chardon High School and Kent State University.She was a member of the Fowlers Mill Christian Church for many years, and later joined the Chardon United Methodist Church where, she sang in the choir, led the Jr. choir and was the assistant organist. Mrs. Vaughn was an Elementary Teacher and Principal in Geauga County for 36 years, having taught in Hambden, Chesterland and Newbury. She was a charter member of the Geauga County Retired Teachers and a member of the National Retired Teachers Association. Mrs. Vaughn taught Voice and Piano lessons and volunteered at the Hattie Larlham foundation for many years. She was also a longtime member of the “Beaux and Belles”. She is survived by her son Arbin (Loretta) Vaughn, Jr. of Chardon, grandchildren Rebecca Vaughn of Lancaster, Michael (Christy) Vaughn of Painesville, Steven (Traci) Vaughn of Parker, CO, Donald (Karyn) Vaughn of Belleville, MI, great granddaughters Caitlin, Julia and Morgan.Step Children Sister Barbara Vaughn of St. Mary’s Monastery, Navoo, IL and Richard Vaughn of MI, sister Muriel Kieffer of Chardon, nieces Rev. Wendy (Keith) Guion of Ashland, and Joan (Thomas) Rawdon of Grandville. Her husband Arbin Vaughn, Sr., parents James and Esther (nee: Harris) Matthewson and sister Elva Mills.
