Geraldine V. Goodenough, age 87, of Chardon, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at UH Geauga Medical Center.Born Feb 15, 1923, in Cleveland, she was a lifelong area resident.Mrs. Goodenough was a former cafeteria worker with Tow Motor of Mentor.Geraldine Hill married Leonard Goodenough on June 14, 1941, in Painesville. He preceded her in death June 29, 1978.She enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting, ceramic work and gardening. She was also an avid Bingo player.Survivors are her son, Jerry Goodenough of Chardon; brother, Richard T. Hill of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; sister: Lillian Hill of Newbury Township; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Goodenough; daughter, Donna Lee Candon; son, Jack Leonard Goodenough; parents, Dewy and Elsie (nee: Keller) Hill; brothers, Robert and William Hill; and sisters, Dorothy Hill and Jean Glavosek.Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 29, 2010, at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St. (on State Route 44, 500 feet south of Route 6/Chardon Square), Chardon. Pastor Dennis Lippmann of New Life Christian Church will officiate at services.
