George William Shuffert, age 72, of Windsor Township, passed away March 2, 2011, at Geauga Regional Hospital in Claridon Township.Born July 3, 1938, in East Liverpool, he was a resident of Windsor Township for 32 years and previously lived in Chardon.Mr. Shuffert was the owner/operator of Value King Supermarkets in Chardon and Middlefield for 15 years.George William Shuffert married Sondra Cronin on June 3, 1961, in East Liverpool. He was an avid fly-fisherman and was a member of the Northeast Ohio Fly-fishing Association, where he had served as vice-president and treasurer. He also enjoyed woodworking.Survivors include his wife, Sondra Shuffert of Windsor Township; one daughter, Tawnya (Bill) Harrison of Hiram; one son, George W. Shuffert VI of Windsor Township; two grandchildren, Cuyler Lehman of Farmington and Dustin Meckley of Orwell Township and one sister, Martha Jane Topper of Atwater.He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. and Thelma (Bercham) Shuffert and three daughters, Robin Louise and Heather Shuffert and Cathy Lynn Shuffert. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2011, at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., (on Route 44, 500 feet south of Route 6/Chardon Square) Chardon.Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Windsor Township Cemetery in Windsor Township.
