Gary E. Hanlon age 62 of Chardon, OH died July 17, 2009 at University Hospital, Cleveland. He was born November 15, 1946 in Youngstown, OH and had lived in Chardon for the past 32 years. Gary graduated in 1964 from Austintown-Fitch High School and went on to earn his Bachelors in Education at Youngstown State University and his Masters in Special Education from Kent State University. He was a Health/Gym Teacher and Athletic Director at Chardon High School and Middle School. He retired in 2007 after 35 years. He was an avid fisherman and golfer and was affiliated with numerous community committees. He was currently serving as the Commissioner of the Lake/Geauga Middle School Athletic League. He was also the Director of Football Operations at West Geauga High School.Survivors include his best friends, Bobi and Dale Fellinger and their children, Steve (Kathy) and Beth (Dave) Brown and his dear friend, Larry Reiter, The Keith cousins; Joan Keith, Kaye Schaff, Vicki Lynn (Marv) Morgan, Keith Evans, Gale Jurozenko, Peter and Paul Higgins. All his many, devoted friends, fishing and golf buddies. He was preceded by his mother and step-father, Betty and Andre Keith and his cousin, David HigginsA Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at 5:00 PM at Chardon Lakes Golf Course, 470 South Street, Chardon, OH.
