She was a member of the Chardon United Methodist Church, active in the Church Women United and Tuesday Club.Graduate of Duke UniversityAlso a member of the Geauga Co. Retired Teachers Association, Women’s Civic Club of Cleveland Hts. and supporter of many charities.Frances had a joy of life, and was quite talented in gardening, sewing and crafts. He flowers and vegetables won her many ribbons at the Geauga County Fair.She loved to sing and at one time she was a member of the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus.She loved children and teaching, and it gave her enormous pleasure to be remembered by former students and see their success, some of whom she maintained contact with for over 6 years. Those who knew her knew of her love for dogs, her fierce determination, her delight in nature, and the pleasure she took from life. Survivors include her nieces Priscilla (William) Gray of Worthington, and Lynda Thomas of Cincinnati.1 great nephew Barry Thomas, 1 great niece: Elizabeth Gray, sister in law Lois Cooper, brother in law Warren Young.
