Flora graduated from Chardon High School in 1931. She was a member of Hambden Congregational Church where she served on the Sunshine Committee from 1978 – 2004. She also belonged to the Hambden Grange, of which she was a charter member since 1929, Pomona, Ohio State and National Grange, and the Farm Bureau Women’s Committee. The “Century Acre Farm ” was selected as one of the 1995 regional winners in the Ohio Outstanding Century Farm program.Mrs. Phillips worked at the former Snap Out Forms in Chardon from 1932-1936. She Retired from working for Mrs. Augustus Knight in Waite Hill after 22 years of loyal service. She then returned home to the “Century Acres Farm “, in 1963, where she was born.She married Harold Phillips September 15, 1934 in Hambden Twp. After 66 years of marriage, he preceded her in death November 8, 2000.Survivors include her Daughter Nancy (Gene) Wetzel, Grandchildren Eugene (Mary) Wetzel and Kim (Rick) Poff, all of Hambden Twp. She also leaves her great grandchildren twins, Taylor and Tatumn Poff and Austin Wetzel; sister Margaret Hazen of Munson Twp, brother-in-Law, Robert (Charlotte) Phillips of FL and Many Nieces and Nephews. She was also predeceased by her parents Clyde and Mary (Davis) Winchell and sister Gladys Sangrik.
