Faun Pinzone Peters, a woman full of warmth and love, peacefully passed away on December 27, 2023, at the age of 86. Born on April 12, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio to James and Elaine Pinzone (nee: Baker), Faun’s journey through life was marked by a variety of interests, many adventures and an enduring love for those she held dear.
Faun’s story unfolded against the backdrop of Chardon, Ohio where she graduated from Chardon High School and later worked as an administrative assistant at Rimes Trucking. It was there that she crossed paths with the love of her life, Edmond Harvey Peters. Together they shared 43 years of marriage that were filled with an abundance of love and shared dreams.
After retiring in 1988, Faun and Ed embarked on their dream adventure—living near the ocean. They settled in Wilmington, N.C., where they embraced life to the fullest. Faun continued utilizing her administrative skills at UNCW and Cape Fear Community College while also remaining active in her pursuit of physical fitness. She and Ed were very active in biking, running and playing tennis. Her zest for life manifested in her participation in numerous marathons, including the historic 100th Boston Marathon and the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington DC.
Faun’s love for the ocean found expression in leisurely walks along the beach. Together she and Ed also enjoyed ballroom and shag dancing. Faun was a wonderful cook and took delight in preparing family favorites as well as in hosting parties for family and friends. She enjoyed live theater as well as good books, movies and music.
Faun is survived by her cherished children, daughter Kelly (Ken) Skorepa of Concord, OH, son Michael (Kathy) Wolcott of Ann Arbor, MI, step-daughters Terry (David) Miller of Roaming Shores, OH, and Sherry (Steve) Gruskiewicz of Orwell, OH. Faun is also survived by her sisters, Kam (Pinzone) Forment and Anita (Pinzone) Clark. Her love extends to 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her beloved husband Ed Peters, and her brother Donn Pinzone. Their reunion in eternity will surely be filled with joy.
A Memorial Service celebrating Faun’s remarkable life will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024, with visitation at 11:00 AM and service at 12:00 PM, at the Painesville Church of the Nazarene, 6235 Chestnut St, Painesville, OH 44077. As an alternative to sending flowers for the service, donations may be made in Faun’s name to Hospice of the Western Reserve.
Interment will take place in Arlington National Cemetery, where Faun will rest beside her husband, a United States Army veteran of World War II.
