Evelyn Hancock Miller married Melvin K. Rear in 1953. He preceded in death on August 5, 1988.Member of the Burton Congregational Church, Burton, OH. She had worked for the Geauga Co. Selective Service. Also had been a secretary and bookkeeper for Cleveland Trencher, where she met her husband. A founding member of the Christ Presbyterian Church, Chester Twp., OH, where she had served as first president of the Women’s Association of the church.Member and Past Worthy Matron of the former Ruby Chapter #4, OES in Chardon (Now merged with Clover Chapter #201 in Burton, OH)She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, sewing, reading, knitting, crocheting, and making enamel jewelry.She was very proud of being self taught in the French language, and playing the piano and organ.During the 1950’s, Mrs. Rear gave book reviews on local radio stations.Mrs. Rear loved being a grandmother and cooking for her family.She is survived by 1 Daughter: Roberta (Roger) Durham of Burton Village, OH; 2 Sons: Hugh M.
