Elizabeth Betty (Bowers) Showers, 85, of Hambden, a homemaker,died March 21, 2007.Born Sept. 6, 1921, in Windber, Pa., she had lived in Cleveland and Wickliffe before moving to Geauga County in 1985.She was a member of the Wickliffe American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. Betty enjoyed being around friends and family, whether it was playing pinochle, bingo, puzzles, and other games. She had a large collection of china and crystal bells. Her favorite past time was visiting with and watching her grandchildren.Survivors are her husband, Harold F. Showers, whom she married July 1, 1950, in Cleveland; daughter, Jeanne (Barry Brcak) Hall of Montville; grandchildren, Shannon, Chris, Dusty and Holly Hall; brothers, Tom (Jean) Bowers of Willoughby Hills, Charles (Delores) Bowers of Twinsburg, and William (Barbara) Bowers of Copley; sisters, Shirley (Rodgers) Dean of Mayfield Heights and Emily (Ken) Lyman of Rocky River; and many nieces and nephews.Her parents, Lewis and Grace (Langley) Bowers; brother, Gerald Bowers; and sisters, Virginia Markan, Marjorie Barna and Edith Wainwright, are deceased.The Rev. Ed Peterson of The First United Methodist Church of Middlefield will officiate the service.
