Elizabeth M. “Betty” (Magyar) Clary, 88, of Chardon, a homemaker, died Jan. 20, 2009, at Chardon Healthcare Center in Chardon.Born Sept. 20, 1920, in Thorpe, W.Va., she had been a lifelong Geauga County area resident.Mrs. Clary enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, entertaining, traveling, camping and ceramics.Survivors are her daughters, Barbara Kiebler of Chardon and Shirley (Joe) Neill of Chardon; grandchildren, Beth Kiebler of Gates Mills, Paul (Jody) Kiebler of Chagrin Falls, Ryan Clary of Gainesville, Fla., Jeff (Jennifer) Neill of Mentor, Adam Clary of Concord Township, Eric Clary of Gainesville, Fla., and Kevin Neill of Chardon; great-grandchildren, Paul and Gavin Kiebler; daughter-in-law, Susan (Robert) Conroy of Chardon; sister, Helene Sadar of New York; and brother, Robert (Eileen) Mate of Missouri.Her husband, Harold A. Clary, whom she married Feb. 3, 1942, in Jessup, Ky., died April 29, 1994. Her son, Harold R. Clary; parents, Frank and Mary (Gercsi) Magyar; siblings, Anna Sobonya, Mary Moseley, Irene Schultz, Steve Magyar, Jean Kohlman, Frank Magyar and Margaret Gillispie; and son-in-law, Paul E. Kiebler, are also deceased.The Rev. D. Ray Mullet, Chaplain of Hospice of Care will officiate. Burial will be in Mesopotamia Cemetery in Mesopotamia.
