Mr. Hofstetter died Wednesday March 8, 2006 at the Geauga Regional Hospital. He was a Judge for the 11th District (Ohio) Court of Appeals including Geauga, Lake, Portage, Ashtabula, and Trumbull counties from1968 – 1982. He was also a lawyer from 1953 until his election as judge.Edwin T. Hofstetter married Anna May Booth in the Old South Church, Kirtland, OH, on March 28, 1941. She preceded him in death on July 30, 2004.Mr. Hofstetter was a Geauga County Justice of the Peace during the mid 1950’s.Geauga County Commissioner from 1956-1960 Geauga County Prosecutor 1960 – 1966Ohio State Representative from Geauga County from 1966 – 1968.Graduate of The Ohio State University, with an Agricultural Economics Degree in 1941. He went to Cleveland Marshall College of Law in 1953 and graduated with a degree in law. He was a member of the Chardon Jaycees as well as a Charter Member and past president of the Chardon Rotary Club. He and his wife, Anna May, were also proud members of the Geauga County Republican Hall of Fame. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. He was a dairy farmer in the early years of his marriage and renewed his love of making maple syrup after his retirement from public office. He was a longtime and active member of the Chardon United Methodist Church where he served in many leadership capacities. He is survived by :2 Daughters: Beth M.
