EDNA VOLLMER BEHARRY, age 90, of Chardon, died at home surrounded by loving family on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at her home. She was born May 14, 1930, in Cleveland, Ohio to Henry and Grace (nee: Reeves) Wehagen.

Edna was a long-time member of the St. Luke Episcopal Church in Chardon and an active member of the Women’s Fellowship. She started working at Bessie Benner Metzenbaum School as a bus driver and then as an Executive Secretary, she also was a Clerk at Geauga County Court House. Edna worked in the Boca Hotel Gift Shop in Boca Raton, FL. When Edna lived in Deerfield Beach, FL, she loved to sing with the Royal Palm Sweet Adeline’s in West Palm Beach, FL.

She is survived by her son, Jack (Pam) Vollmer Jr. of Willoughby, Oh and daughter, Jill (Harold) Baker of Daphne, AL; six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and longtime loving companion Charles Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Jack Monroe Vollmer Sr.; her second husband, John P. Beharry; a daughter, Judith M. May; 7 brothers, Charles, Marvin, Allen, Roy, Robert, Donald, and Victor; and 4 sisters, Clarice Griffith, Odell Stell, Betty Wehagen and Doris Butts.

Private Family Services were held. Interment is at the Columbarium of St. Luke Episcopal Church, Chardon.

Good memories of your mom and our families' get-togethers playing cards. Your mom was a calming force. I remember the Vollmer reunions on the Jones Farm, Ford Road, South Madison. My uncle Leslie Jones was a brother to your grandmother, Gladys. My parents, Ray & Bernice Krall, love visiting your mom in Wilder's as they lived in the front. Sorry about Judy's passing. Jack, Pam and family ~ Please accept my condolences. Your Mom was such a kind, gentle soul. I remember her stopping to visit my folks on walks around Wilder's Park....and vice versa. Rest in peace Edna.
