Dorothy Fannin (nee: Zakany), age 83 of Chardon, OH was born March 20, 1927 in , National, WV. Mrs. Fannin lived in Mayfield Hts before moving to Chardon 16 years ago. She passed away January 9, 2011 at Holly Hill Nursing Center, Newbury, OH. She was a bank teller for the former National City Bank in East Gate and Brainard Road Branches for 25 years.Dorothy Zakany married William Fannin 1951 in Angola, Indiana.Mrs. Fannin was an avid golfer and card player. Their travels revolved around playing golf. First and foremost her greatest joy was spending time with her family.Survivors include daughters: Barb (Andrew) Hugel of Auburn Twp., OH, Diane Kleve of Munson Twp., OH, and Robin (John Kosegi) Fannin of Hiram, OH; grandchildren: Shannon (Nick) Treat of Munson Twp., OH, Shane (Jill) Fannin of Mantua, OH, Craig, Jr. and Kelly Kleve of Munson Twp., OH, Bill, Brian and Michael Hugel of Auburn Twp., OH, Lindsay Yocum of Stow, OH; great Grandchildren: Brendan, Cole and Ty Fannin of Mantua, OH; sisters: Esther Nikkila of New Port Richey, FL, Irene Poling of Niles, OH; brother: Al Zakany of Columbiana, OH.She is preceded in death by her husband: William Fannin; parents: Albert and Elizabeth (nee: Nagy) Zakany; sisters: Marge Pachuk, Lee Reszegi, Julie Kotas;and brothers: Ernie and Steve Zakany.A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 15 at 12:00 PM at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St. (on St. Rt. 44, 500′ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon, OH. Rev. Robert Gaston, retired, will be officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:00 until 12:00 Saturday, at the funeral home. Private family burial will be held.
