Donnie R. Mabe, age 56 of Thompson died September 12, 2012 at Blossom Hill Care Center in Huntsburg. Born April 16, 1956 in Pulaski, VA to Malcolm and Dorothy (nee: Coake) Mabe, he was a lifelong area resident. He most recently worked for Extrudex in Painesville. Donnie enjoyed fishing and building R/C Airplanes. In his younger years he enjoyed restoring his 1957 Chevy. Donnie is survived by his father Malcolm W. Mabe; brothers Duane “Mike” (Mary) of Montville, Shyrell and Darroll of Thompson; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy (nee:Coake) Mabe. Funeral services will be 1pm Monday, September 17, 2012 at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, (St. Rt. 44, 500′ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square), Chardon. Visitation will be Monday from noon until 1pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Thompson. Donations are suggested to the American Diabetes Association 1701 North Beauregard Street Alexandria, VA 22311.
