Donna Rae Milliff, Age 65, loving grandmother of six, mother of three and adoring wife to Bill Milliff, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of September 16th.
Donna was the first born to Cassius and Myrna (King) Cutchall in October of 1956 and grew up in Willoughby Ohio with her three siblings. She graduated from Willoughby South and shortly after met Bill at his own birthday party. They fell in love and married in March 1978. They bought a small house in Chardon where they had three children. Donna worked at Heather Hill and took some classes at Lakeland Community college. In 1986, they moved their family to a fixer upper in Montville where they enjoyed the peace and quiet of a country home. Donna used the extra space to grow vegetables, build rock paths, and host Easter egg hunts for family and friends. She enjoyed her time as a cub scout den mother and spending summers working at Pioneer Waterland. When her babies grew up and moved out, she worked for a short time as a home care assistant. In 2015, she gave up her job to spend more time with her husband. They spent several summers listening to music in the park and taking short trips to get ice cream, chinese food, or to visit family. Donna loved to make pizza from scratch or tiny foods for new year’s parties, playing keyboard, sewing clothing and quilts, and taking family vacations. She enjoyed many crafty projects such as painting and crochet and would happily play anything with her grandchildren. She could easily fall into a book and get lost for days, but she was also a very friendly, talkative, and helpful person when she was out in the world. She was always spontaneous and enjoyed new experiences and small adventures. She had a childlike spirit of kindness for others and will be greatly missed by those that loved her.
She is survived by husband Bill Milliff, daughters Nicole (Jeremy), and Linda, and son Brian (Audrey), grand children Madison, Emily, Nolan, Fiona, Alistair, and Navaeh, Siblings Barbara, Daniel, and Joy, a number of nieces and nephews, as well as a growing number of great neices and great nephews and her dog Lily.
