Denver G. Yeater, age 89, peacefully passed away on January 1, 2024. Born on December 6, 1934, in the hills of West Virginia to Ben and Goldie Yeater, Denver proudly served in the U.S. Army and later became a dedicated foreman in various machine shops.
On December 28, 1955, Denver married the love of his life, Marilyn Hummel, in a small town ceremony in Thompson, OH. Together, they forged a life spanning nearly seven decades, making their home and raising a family in Geauga County.
Denver found joy in simple pleasures, from skiing to golf, and his visits to the casino with his son became cherished pastimes. Yet, nothing surpassed the love he held for his family. His grandchildren brought immeasurable joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Denver is survived by his devoted wife Marilyn Yeater of Chardon, OH; his sons, Denver (Barbara) Yeater of Perry, OH, and Phillip (Keli) Yeater of Huntsburg, OH; and his daughter, Josy Haggard of WA.
He is preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Mitch Haggard.
Visitation for family and friends will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on January 8, 2024, at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, Chardon, OH 44024. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m., and the burial will follow the services at Chardon Municipal Cemetery.
