Born in Euclid, OH, Denny was actively involved in Euclid Politics, where he campaigned for a Ward 2 Council Seat. He has lived in Chardon Township for over 20 years. He died at his home with his wife and son by his side after a three year battle with cancer. Denny’s fighting spirit during his illness came from the many lessons he learned while playing sports – learning to never quit until the game is over.Denny began his career at Chase Brass and Copper Company in Euclid, where he became Plant Manager. He then spent the next 14 years as Vice President at Things Remembered where he was responsible for the development and leadership of the state of the art Distribution Center located in North Jackson, OH. After serving for many years on the Executive Team of Things Remembered, Denny took a new role as Vice President of Field Repair at Sterling, Inc. in Akron, where he has served for the past four years leading the growth of a multi-million dollar business unit.Dennis A. Benvenuto married Robin Burhenne on April 10, 1976.In 1975, Denny graduated from Defiance College where he lettered in baseball and football, served as Class President, Theta Xi Scholarship Chairman and was named to Outstanding College Athletes of America. Denny went on to obtain a Master Degree in Business Administration from Cleveland State University in 1996.He enjoyed spending special time with his family and friends, annual trips to Hilton Head, Friday nights at Spats Cafe, and his daily lunches at Sterling, with his son. He most enjoyed times spent at his condo on Kelleys Island, where he loved boating, driving his golf cart and socializing with many island friends and family.Denny leaves behind his loving wife, Robin (Burhenne); Son, Denny Tyler (fiancee’ Carla Cordaro) Benvenuto of Lyndhurst; Mom, Joyce (DiLalla) Benvenuto of Chardon; sisters, Noreen (Joseph) DiStaulo of Chesterland and Darlene Fiorille of Tallmadge; Special sister & brother in law, Janet (Thomas E.) Beck of Mansfield/Kelleys Island. Denny was also a brother-in-law, uncle and great uncle to many. He also leaves behind his cat Finamore. He was preceded in death by his father Mario “Ben” Benvenuto and in-laws Robert and Arla Burhenne.A special thank you to all family and friends for their love and support during this difficult time, the many prayers, cards and baskets were greatly appreciated.
