Deborah Ann (nee. Teague) Kautzman, age 73, of Newbury, Ohio, peacefully passed away on June 24, 2023. She was born December 22, 1949 to Marcella and Eugene Teague in Cleveland, Ohio.
Deborah was a hard worker and always put 110% into her job. As a child, she worked on her family farm. She was a service manager at Kmart in Bainbridge for many years, but was best known as a bus driver for Newbury Local Schools where she became a surrogate mother to many students. She cared deeply. After retiring from the school and the closure of Kmart she taught drivers education at area schools. Mom loved working with the youth, never forgetting that respect and empathy were usually the best solution for any child having a rough day. She was an artist in the kitchen making the best cakes and pies. She was also an avid sewer. Her creations and the memories they serve are spread all over Northeast Ohio. Deborah was always one to lend a hand and volunteer for any event in the community. Other hobbies included caring for her dogs & watching movies, especially the Marvel Universe and Downtown Abbey.
She is survived by her children, Kerri Kautzman of Mentor, Ohio and Doug (Audrey) Kautzman of Lakewood, Ohio. As well as her three sisters, Sandy Podojil, Cheryl Moster and Linda Benbow, her Aunt Priscilla Rumplik along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Richard Kautzman and her parents Eugene and Marcella Teague.
The family will be holding a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 12pm at Newbury United Community Church, 14916 Auburn Rd., Newbury, Ohio with a fellowship luncheon immediately following.
