David R. “Tex” Anderson, 81, of Cortland, passed away Jan. 22, 2011, at his home surrounded by his loving family.Born June 15, 1929, in Colebrook, he had lived in Chardon before moving to Cortland 15 years ago.Of all the jobs in his long working career, he found long distance truck driving to be the most fulfilling.David R. Anderson married Margaret Wilber Hewitt Jan. 18, 1965. Dave will be sorely missed by loving friends and family, who enjoyed listening to his adventures. He was an avid NASCAR, Cleveland Browns and Indians fan.Survivors are his wife, Margaret (nee Wilber) Anderson of Cortland; sons, David M. Anderson of Fairmount, W.Va., Robert A. Anderson of Mentor and Scott A. Hewitt of Chardon; daughter, Karen Hewitt of Chardon; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and loving companion, Lux.He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Florence (nee Brockway) Anderson.Private family services were held upon his request.Contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Valley, 5000 East Market St., Suite 19, Warren, OH 44484. Arrangements are being handled by The Burr Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Chardon.
