Clara Elizabeth (nee: Keckmety) Spangler, age 96, of Hambden Twp., born on March 1, 1914 in Fairport Harbor, Ohio.Clara resided in Hambden for the past 70 years where she stayed in her own home until the last 2 weeks of her life.She died January 1, 2011 at Chardon Healthcare. She was a homemaker. Clara married Harry Bunker Spangler on November 5, 1938 in Painesville, OH.She loved to paint water colors, gardening, sketching, the Cleveland Indians, art, music, and telling people of her religious convictions. She was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for 71 years. She dearly loved her family. Suvivors include daughters, June E. Spangler of Hambden, and Cynthia (William) Gest of Chesterland; grandson, Joshua W. (Danika) Gest of Burton; sisters, Barbara Dietrich of Perry, Ruth Werronen of Fairport Harbor, and Rebecca Horton of Summerville, SC.She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry B. Spangler; parents, Frank and Elizabeth Keckmety; sisters, Elizabeth Moran, Charlotte Karolyi, and Pauline Keckmety; and brother, Frank Keckmety.A Memorial Service will be held on January 8, 2011 at 3:30PM at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 110 Woodiebrook Rd., Chardon, OH. Elder Ted A. Schienke will officiate. A burial will be held at Hambden Cemetery. Family suggests donations be made to Worldwide Work of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 110 Woodiebrook Rd., Chardon, OH 44024.
