Age 86, of Chardon, died September 10, 2018 at Western Reserve Hospice, Cleveland. Born March 17, 1932 in Salix, PA to William and Ella May (nee: Lewis) Coley, he has been a Chardon resident for 65 years. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, camping, boating and snowmobiling. Clair was a supervisor for the former Fisher Body GM plant in Euclid for 34 years, retiring in 1985. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Jean (nee: Hoffman), whom he married in Somerset, PA March 29, 1953. Sons David Coley of Chardon, Mark (D.D.) Coley of Chardon and Eric (Rachelle) Coley of Painesville, he was “Pappy” to Shane, Kristina (Mike), Tionna, Chad and Noah. Clair also leaves his sister, Florine Reckner of Rochester, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 14 from 5:00 – 8:00 at the Concord Alliance Church, 7152 Ravenna Rd., Concord (corner of Rt. 608 and Ravenna Rd.), where he served as a faithful member for 65 years, and Saturday, September 15 from 10:30, until the time of the service at 11:30 at the church, Pastor Bryon Bukovesky officiating. Burial will follow at Chardon Municipal Cemetery.
