Mr. Bender was a tool grinder for Stanley Air Tool in Mayfield for 13 years, retiring in 2000.Mr. Bender always planted a large garden and canned everything he grew. He loved to cook, especially that which he grew. Mr. Bender shared what he canned with friends and family. He was an avid hunter and always looked forward to going “home” to West Virginia for hunting season with his son and grandson. He raised chickens and sold eggs to all of the neighbors and his friends. He enjoyed music and was a self taught musician. He could play any stringed instrument.Survivors include his wife Alice (Nicolet) Bender of Hambden Twp., whom he married at former the Montville United Methodist Church October 7, 1961.He also leaves his daughter: Caryl (Lance) Bump of Madison, sons Ronald (Tina) Bender of Hambden Twp. and Donald (Jessica Robinson) Bender of Hambden Twp., grandchildren Michael and Steven Richards, Zachary, David and Stephanie Bump, Sherry (Ryan) Lardie, Jennifer, James, Christina and Caryl Anne Bender and great granddaughter: Destiny Lardie; sisters M. Eileen “Ean” (Albert) King of Orwell, Shirley (Gene) Shelton of FL, Carol (William) Giragos of CA, brother Willard (Cheryl) Bender of Grand River and many cousins, nieces and nephews. His parents Calvin and Ruth (Bright) Bender are deceased.The family would like to give a special thank you to Chris and Anne from Hospice of Care Corp for the loving care they gave to Chuck.
