Born in Chardon Village, OH, Dr. Werman had lived in North Andover, Mass and Hambden Twp., before moving to Youngstown for the past 6 years. She died at the Park Vista Retirement Community in Youngstown, OHDr. Werman was a Professor of Chemistry at Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts, for 25 years. She also had taught at KSU, and Lakeland College.A 1946 graduate of Chardon High School, Dr. Werman then attended The Ohio State University where she received her Bachelors degree. She did her Masters work at University of Tennessee and her post grad study in computers, polymers, and the History of Chemistry at Lowell Tech. Inst., where she earned her PhD.Dr. Werman enjoyed weaving on any of her three looms, and was a member of the Weavers Guild. She was a member of the American Chemical Society, Sigma Xi, attended Rome Presbyterian Church in Rome, OH and served as a Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown.She proudly served as the Co – Founder of the McGravey/Werman Chemistry Scholarship at Merrimack College.Survivors include her brother, Walter W. (Eleanor) Werman of Chardon, OH.She was preceded in death by her mother, Augusta (Green) Werman Batovec; her father, William Werman; and her Step -Father, Jerry Batovec.
