Carol A. Pappalardo, 74, of Chardon, passed away July 23, 2011, at UHHS Geauga Medical Center.She was born July 22, 1937, in Cleveland and was a longtime area resident.She was a homemaker and Clerk at Chardon Probate Court, retiring from Chardon.Carol Bryer married Charles Pappalardo Jr. on Sept. 7, 1957, in Mayfield Heights.Carol enjoyed cooking, canning, making chocolates, and playing bingo. Her greatest love was spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.Survivors are her husband, Charles Pappalardo Jr. of Chardon; daughters, Donna Barson of Chardon, Christine (Robert) Hopkins of Hambden, Marie (Joel) Grimm of Clermont, Fla.; sons, Jerry (Kris) Pappalardo of Temecula, Calif., Charles (Sally) Pappalardo III of Burlingame, Calif.; grandchildren, Nicholas and Mariella Barson, Matthew, Todd, Brittany and Bradley Hopkins, Charles and Andrew Grimm, Brian and Megan Pappalardo; brothers, John and Robert Bryer; and sister, Phyllis Jerdonek.She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Lenore (nee Carroll) Bryer; and sisters, Lenore and Janet.The funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at the Church of St. Mary, 401 North Street Chardon, OH 44024.Friends my call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, (St. Rt. 44, 500′ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square), Chardon.A private family burial is planned.Donations are suggested to St. Mary’s Catholic School 401 North Street Chardon, OH 44024.
