Carol Joyce Mansfield, age 84, of Newbury Township, OH. peacefully passed away on December 7, 2023, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Cleveland and moved to Chardon, OH at the age of nine. There they had a hobby farm raising sheep and horses. Carol graduated from Chardon High School in 1957 and worked as a bank teller on the Chardon Square. A few years out of high school her good friend Aggie introduced her to Hank at a hayride he was hosting at his farm. The rest is history. They built their life together in Newbury, raising their two children.
They loved to travel, taking their family on many trips and adventures. They had a hobby farm of their own, raising black wool sheep. She was very involved in 4-H and the Geauga County Fair. Carol loved raising black wool sheep. She and her husband and family traveled around the country going to wool festivals and fairs showing her sheep. When she wasn’t showing sheep, they would travel around the country to tractor shows. When they weren’t doing tractor shows they loved to travel and go on adventures with their friends and family.
Carol and Hank will always be remembered as the kindest of people. We ask that you remember her long life with family and friends and not her death.
Carol is survived by her two sons Harold, Jr (Erin McKay) and Bryan. Her two grandsons Spencer and Jackson. Her younger brother Paul Jacobs (Pamela), and sister Janice Croson (Robert), Brother-in-law Paul, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Joyce (nee: Kogler) Jacobs and Harold Lee, Sr, her husband of 59 years.
Per her request, there will be no calling hours. A private service will be held later.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests those wanting to make contributions in Carol Mansfield’s memory to do so to the Geauga County 4-H Advisory Committee. Donations can be made to the Geauga County 4-H Clubs at OSUE Geauga, P.O. Box 387, Burton, Ohio 44021 or to The Hospice of Western Reserve (Mentor Division) 17876 St Clair Ave. Cleveland, OH 44110.
