CAROL E. WENNER (nee: Leonard), Age 77 of Newbury Twp., died November 6, 2015 at UHHS Geauga Medical Center, Claridon Twp. Born April 16, 1938 in Lewisburg, PA, to Raymond and Gladys (nee: Ocker) Leonard, Born and raised in Lewisburg, where she graduated High School in 1955. She has lived in the Northeast Ohio area for 60 years. When her children were young, she was a 4-H advisor to a Horse and Pony Club of Geauga County. For many years, she was a volunteer at the former Geauga Community Hospital. She also answered the emergency phone for the Newbury Fire Department before 911 came to Geauga County. For the last 30 years, Carol and her daughter, Deborah have owned and operated Country Arts and Jewelry in Middlefield. She had a talent for color and she enjoyed designing one of a kind and custom jewelry. She also enjoyed gardening, canning and quilting. Carol is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gerald Wenner of Newbury Twp., daughter Deborah Wenner of Middlefield and son Jeffrey (Annemarie) Wenner of Claridon Twp. granddaughter Jessica (Gabreil) Diggs of Canton, grandson, Gregory Wenner and great granddaughter Alyssa Diggs and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister Jean Fisher of Lewisburg, PA. Private family services were held.
