Bruce Ward

February 22, 1932 - March 30, 2011

Bruce Ward,79, died on March 30, 2011 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He was a lifelong resident of Ohio until June of 2010. Mr. Ward is a graduate of Dover (Westlake) High School, Ohio State University and served as a lieutenant in the signal Corps. He retired after 37 years as Marketing Manager of Lamp Glass Components Dept. of the General Electric Co. Mr. Ward is survived by his wife, Patricia (nee Sheldon), Daughter, Candace Ward, And sons, Barry Ward, Keith Ward (Margaret Fitzgibbons), Mark Ward (Donna Smith), Todd Ward (Linda Farley), nine grandchildren: LeighAndra Ward, Megan Ward, Rachel Ward, Alex Ward, Michaela Ward, Daniel Ward, Kara Davis, Evan Davis, and Anna Ward. He is also survived by a sister, Barbara Schrock and a niece and nephew. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 from 6-8PM at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., (on St Rt. 44, 500′ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square), Chardon, OH. Graveside services will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery, Auburn and Cedar Rds., Munson Township at 11 am, April 6, 2011.

Thinking of you all at this most difficult time...I did not have the privilege of knowing Mr. Bruce for very long, but am very glad that I got to meet him. His smile could light up a room! He will truly be missed, but the many memories of times shared will last forever. God Bless.

I most remember going with Bruce to feed the dogs at the kennel and when finished, he would let my sister and myself ride the horses bareback. I also remember the time he convinced Todd to eat fish eyes by telling him they were brain food.
