Betty Jean Hersh, age 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 28, 2023 at the Ohmen Family Living at Briar in Middlefield, OH. She was born on December 13, 1933 to Roscoe and Lillie (nee: Tyler) Fidler in South Euclid, OH. Betty was a proud mother raising 5 children over the years. She loved spending time with her kids, taking them roller skating, cheering at sport events, and sledding at Punderson State Park. Later in life she found a love for square dancing and spending time with her sister, Juanita. Betty and Juanita enjoyed socializing at all the senior centers. Betty was happiest when she was doing activities with her 8 grandchildern. She will be remembered for her big heart and generous personality.   

Betty is survived by her children, Steven Hersh, William (Jean) Hersh, Don (Chris) Hersh, and Hope (Harry) Holt; Grandchildren, Beau, Brittany, Jessica, Billy, Amber, Josh, Rachel (Lester), and Patrick (Melissa); She leaves behind her sister, Juanita Hull and  many nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.

She is preceded by her loving husband, Alvin Hersh and her oldest son, Richard; Brothers, Al and Larry.

A visitation for friends and family will be held Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St. Chardon, OH  44024.  The funeral service for Betty will be held following the visitation at 12:00 p.m.

Burial will take place at Whitehaven Memorial Park, 615 SOM Center Road, Mayfield, OH 44143.
