Growing up, Bernice would point out to me (in a very loving way) every time, in the winter, I ran over to borrow the sewing machine without a coat on that I would catch pneumonia!I talked to Bernice just before Thanksgiving-"yes, she was fine and you should come to the X-Mas party and it is" ....Bless her heart for always looking out for everyone and promoting the simple things in life!! She cared about everyone in such a loving manor!

Dear Paulette, I am so sorry for you loss. Your Mom and Dad have always been so good to all of us kids. I have fond memories of being at your house and will carry them with me forever as I hope your memories will help you thru this hard time and give you comfort in knowing She is in a better place. Hugs to You and the rest of Your family.

Moving to Chardon just before the start of high school was difficult. New town, new friends, etc. One of my first friends at Chardon High School was Pam and I soon learned that her home was a hub for the local kids. Mr. and Mrs. Kenyon were all about the community and all about the kids in that community. Their home was inviting and they always welcomed youngsters into not just their house but their home and their hearts. It would be impossible to count the numbers of children in Chardon who have been cared for and about by Mrs. Kenyon. Since those school days long ago through to only last week, she asked about how I was doing, not focusing on her own needs at all. In my last visit with her, she told me about meeting Mr. Kenyon and how they fell in love. I asked her for the secret to a long and happy marriage, like hers. She told me that it was to be there for the other person....always. Indeed, she was always there for Mr. Kenyon and he for her. But she was always there for so many of us over the years. Always a hello, always a smile, always a welcome. I know that she is being welcomed to a beautiful place right now by those who have gone ahead of her. But someday, I hope that I will see her smile again and that she will welcome me....as she did so many years ago.My life was blessed to know Mrs. Bernice Kenyon.

Aunt Bernice was a lovely woman that I have many fond memories of during my younger years and she will be truly missed. She and Uncle Paul were generous enough to open their house for many years for our Kenyon family reunion held every July 4th. We always had a wonderful time. I am was so happy that I was able to attend one two years ago with my own two daughters and see Aunt Bernice and the family after so many years. Uncle Paul, Paulette, Patsy, Pamela, Paul and your families are in our prayers.Love you all,Terri, Bob, Ashley & Robyn Poplowski
