Barbara P. Moon, 60, of Chardon, passed away April 7, 2006, at her home.Born Dec. 7, 1945, in Lakewood, she had lived in Cleveland before moving to Chardon in 1970.She was first and foremost a mother to her children and a very loving wife to Bill. In her spare time, she sang with the St. Helen’s Catholic Church choir, was a wonderful cook as well as an avid gardener. Along with her garden, she enjoyed cultivating relationships with both her friends and family through her love of writing letters and joy of giving gifts. Interested in health, she enjoyed taking walks with friends, yoga, and her practice of Reiki. She read and studied everything she could to nourish both her own body and spirit as well as those of her family.Mrs. Moon was a clerical assistant at Park Elementary School, where she had worked for 15 years.Survivors are her husband, William L. Moon, whom she married Sept. 6, 1969, at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church in the Little Italy section of Cleveland; daughters, Rebecca M. (Eric) Ruark of College Park, Md., and Margaret (Michael Toth) Moon of Cleveland; son, William L. (Tricia Lunning) Moon III, of Seattle, Wash.; sisters, Gretchen (Nicholas) Smith of Alden, N.Y., and Judith (Kenneth) Krieger of Berthoud, Colo; and brother, David (Joyce) Petre of Wilton, Conn.Her parents, Howard G. and Beatrice (Rossenbach) Petre, are deceased.Father Jay McPhillips of the church will officiate the services.
