Miss Ladd spent most of her life in the Claridon Twp. area. She graduated from Chardon High School in 1930, then attended Kent State University and took business courses in area colleges. Miss Ladd was employed at the Chardon Rubber Company during WWII. She applied for and overseas assignment with the American Red Cross, being deployed to Bari, Italy, as an army hospital recreation aide from 1944 to 1945. Returning stateside, she managed a federal housing project in Muskegon, MI, then transferred to a project in Troy (southern), Ohio. In the late 1950′, she returned to Claridon and worked as a special librarian for the American Society for Metals in Newbury, OH.Miss Ladd was a life-long member of the First Congregational Church of Claridon; was an active volunteer for the Geauga Co. American Red Cross; served on the Advisory Board of Care Corp. (a home health agency)and enjoyed her membership in the Claridon Study Club, as well as volunteering for Century Village in Burton.Survivors include her nieces: Carane Louise Ladd of Munson Twp. and Drs. Felicia Ann (David) Dixon of Selma, Indiana; 2 great nieces: Dr. Diane Elizabeth (Adam) Dungan of Munie, IN and Deirdre Noelle (James) Fulton of Port Matilda, PA; 1 Grea-great niece: Olivia Elizabeth Dungan.
