ARBIN M. VAUGHN, JR.
On October 10, 2020, Arbin M. Vaughn, Jr. (75) (Bucky) left this world for the fairways and putting greens of a better place. A place where the weather is always perfect, greens fees are free and always include a complimentary cart.
Arbin was a life-long Chardon resident and a Chardon High School graduate who loved to travel but always appreciated coming home to the comforts of his lounge chair and remote control. He worked hard throughout his life as a foreman, landscape equipment repairman, charter boat captain, umpire and a transit driver. His skills were as diverse as his tee shots.
Arbin was the only child of the late Arbin Vaughn, Sr. and Gladys (nee: Matthewson). Born June 24, 1945, he enjoyed the life of an only child but he had enough love, wisdom and advice to share with his four children; Rebecca Vaughn (Chris Garner) of Lancaster, OH, Michael (Christy) Vaughn of Painesville, OH, Steven (Traci) Vaughn of Parker, CO and Donald (Karyn) Vaughn of Belleville, MI. Together with Loretta (nee: Rockafellow), his love of 54 years, they created a family full of success, respect and appreciation. Their five grandchildren can look back on their grandfather’s life and have fond memories of camping trips, baseball games, Lake Erie boating and the famous Vaughn family parties.
Arbin (Big Daddy) was well known as a long-time softball player for the Chardon Blue Eagles but his game changed to the golf course later in life. Sometimes he could even be found on the fairways. Now all of his tee shots are perfectly straight, every drop is fortunate, his knees and shoulders don’t ache, and he scores under PAR on every round. He will be forever missed and we cherish all of the memories he has left behind.
His family will gather privately to celebrate his life on Friday, October 16, 2020.
