Angela E. (Zalar) Greve, age 91, of Chardon, died July 17, 2009, at UHHS Geauga Regional Hospital.She was born March 13, 1918, in Cleveland and lived in Chardon area for the past 55 years.She attended the Church of St. Mary’s. She was a homemaker and gardener.She married Robert H. Greve on July 26, 1941, in Cleveland.She enjoyed gardening, playing pinochle with her friends, singing and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Angela was a member of the Geauga Senior Center, The Nature Group, Geauga Seniors Traveling Entertainers, Thompson Senior Pinochle Card Group, The St. Mary’s 50 Plus Club, and the Slovenian Lodge. She was also involved in the Metzenbaum School and Workshop. Angela enjoyed keeping score at her granddaughter’s softball games for many years.Survivors are her sons; Robert L. (Margaret) Greve and Russell J. Greve, both of Chardon; daughter, Margaret S. Greve of Chardon; grandchildren, Christine (Jeff) Brace of Seligman, Mo., Barbara (Julie Hines) Greve of Akron, Kimberly (Nick) Tomba of Concord Township, and Angela (Rick) Daniels of Perry; great-grandchildren, Julia and Jacob Tomba and Samantha Brace; sisters, Frieda Bruemmer and Josephine McGonigal; sister-in-law, Ann Zalar; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Greve; parents, John and Ivana Zalar; brothers, Ed and John (Viney) Zalar; sister, Jennie (Joe) Dzurik; and brothers-in-law, Charles McGonigal and Elmer Bruemmer.Father Thomas Gilles will officiate at services.Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
