Alyce Marie (Werbeach) Rockafellow, 88, of Chardon, a homemaker and bookkeeper, passed away Aug. 4, 2009, at Hillcrest Hospital.Born March 18, 1921, in Fairport Harbor, she had been a longtime area resident.She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and jigsaw puzzles. She enjoyed being Don’s biggest fan when he would compete in Sulky Races. Alyce worked as the bookkeeper for Rockafellow Builders for many years. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.Survivors are her daughters, Loretta (Arbin) Vaughn of Chardon and Denise Bliley of Jefferson; sons, Donald James (Sandra) Rockafellow Jr. of Chardon, Timothy (Christine) Rockafellow of Smithville, Texas and Mark (Deborah) Rockafellow of Hambden Township; Brother, Richard Werbeach of Scottsdale, Arizona; Sister: Sara Joanne Werbeach of Painesville, OH; Rita Shepard from Lakeside, Arizona. 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.Her husband, Donald J. Rockafellow, whom she married July 18, 1942, in Painesville, passed away April 28, 2008. Her son, Christopher Rockafellow; and parents, Ernest and Margaret (McCabe) Werbeach, Brother William Werbeach and Sister Ruth Doeing are also deceased.Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Painesville Township.
