Adele (Astor) Dunlap, 95, of Chardon, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at Ivy House in Painesville.Born March 5, 1914, in Cleveland, she had been a longtime resident of Avon Lake before moving to Chardon in 2004.For more than 40 years, Mrs. Dunlap was an executive secretary for the True Temper Corporation in Cleveland.Mrs. Dunlap was a member of the Avon Lake Church of Christ and Avon Lake Chapter of Eastern Star. She enjoyed bowling, ice skating and horseback riding. Her passion was dogs and because all of her great-grandchildren lived out of state, she loved to clothes shop for them.Survivors are her son, W. Ross (Cheri) Dunlap of Estero, Fla.; grandchildren, Jennifer (Shawn) Verreault of Montreal, Canada and Brian (Jennifer) Dunlap of Dallas, Texas; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Wilma Plott of Windsor; and six nieces and nephews.Her husband, William Ross Dunlap Sr., whom she married in Avon Lake in 1956, preceded her in death in 1993. Her parents, John and Mary (Urbsaitis) Austroskus, are also deceased.The Rev. Henry Woodruff, PhD, retired will officiate. Private family burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Garden in Avon.
