WILLIAM M. “WILLIE” SOBERS

Age 70, of Painesville, passed away at the Louis Stokes Veteran Affairs Hospital in Cleveland on May 31, 2019. Willie was born to James and Dorothy (nee: Gladding) Sobers on October 17, 1948. He proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. After being discharged, he went back home to Painesville and began working for Nucciarone, where he did maintenance for over 35 years. In Willie’s spare time he enjoyed to fish and hunt.

Survivors include sons: William (Crystal Obbish) Sobers of Painesville and Herbert Sobers of Cleveland, GA; daughters: Laura Sobers of Cleveland, GA and Jesse Shreve of Painesville and sisters: Dorothy (James) Brest of Chardon, Mary Ann (Donald) Ineman of Florida, Karen (Roger) Kelhoffer of Perry and Sherry (Thomas) Filla of Middlefield and five grandchildren.

Willie is preceded in death by his parents, brother: Jimmy Sobers

I love and miss you dad so much you will not be forgotten you are forever in my heart

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember when I came home for a visit Bill told me I needed to move back home close to my family....that my Mom always felt like something was missing when I wasn’t there. For anyone that was close to him he always helped them to understand how their choices affected other people around them...He will be truly missed.

Even though we went our separate ways a long time ago you were always loved and will be sorely missed.

Condolences to my cousins and second cousins on the loss of your brother and father. Many of my happiest childhood memories are of the summers in Montiville playing with cousins. Billy was so much fun and I am deeply saddened to learn of his passing. Sweet dreams Billy.

Bill will be missed. It will never be the same driving down Richmond St and not being able to wave hi or stop in to see how he is doing.
