My grandmother was like a second mother to me. I lived with her most of my life and she was a true inspiration. She lived life to the fullest, letting nothing hold her back, she was the most honest and caring woman that I have ever met. I would not be the woman or mother I am today without her wisdom and guidance through life. I have countless incredible memories with her. She encouraged me to pursue my dreams of becoming a nurse practitioner and she was able to join me for my pinning ceremony this past May, I will never forget the role model she was and will strive to be the woman she raised me to be. My boys speak of their GiGi everyday imagining her baking, gardening, dancing, golfing and reading to them, I am blessed that they were able to spend so much time with her, they shared a root beer in honor of her this week :) I was with her at the time of her passing as she joined grandpa hand in hand, it was a very peaceful homecoming...Love you Gram :)

I never met Mrs. Huxel, but my Mom, Vera Riha spoke of her often. They spent some good times together and I can still hear my Mom saying, "I spoke to Ginny today". So now "Ginny" and Mom can pick up where they left off, for it will be a year September 19th since Mom passed. Have a great time, ladies. Marge (Riha) Kleppel

I knew Mrs Huxel and all her family growing up on Kirtland Rd. We had such a wonderful community here - Mrs Huxel taught all us neighbor kids to swim - she was a Red Cross swimming instructor and she always said how important it was for a child to learn to swim! Later she was a great friend to my mom and dad and got them involved in the senior center. I will miss her greatly - the world is a smaller place without Ginni Huxel!
